Men's Soccer Loses To Northampton

With four games left to go, men's soccer needed only one win in order to qualify for NJCAA Region XIX playoffs. The first game of those four was against Northampton Community College on Thursday, a team that they lost to earlier in the season.

The Mustangs started off very strong, dominating possession for most of the first half and taking more shots on goal. In the 28th minute, Chakubuta Tuhenya (FR, Springfield) took a deflection and bicycle kicked the ball over the keeper's head for an amazing first goal of the game.

The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead into the second half and felt confident with their performance. That was until the 53rd-70th minutes, when the Spartans scored 4 goals in a row. The lead gave the Mustangs too much to overcome and, despite being in control of the game and possession for about 70 minutes, the Mustangs fell and fell hard in the 4-1 loss.

The Mustangs will look to rebound against Bucks County Community College on Tuesday.
