Roadrunners Best Mustangs 5-1
Sewell, N.J. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost 1-5 to the Gloucester County College Roadrunners on Sept. 28, 2010.
The Roadrunners jumped out to an early lead with a goal by Mary Kate Coverly within the first three minutes of the game. But the Mustangs were able to settle down and even up the score 15 minutes later with a goal from Michele Biagi, who landed a cross from Jeannine Mason.
Tied up at 1-1, the Mustangs and the Roadrunners battled for the rest of the first half, but neither team could gain the advantage.
However the Roadrunners would not let the tie stand as they pounded the Mustangs goal in the second half, scoring four goals in the 47th, 66th, 71st and 89th minutes of the game. The match concluded in a 5-1 decision for the Roadrunners.
The Mustangs are now 2-6-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the NJCAA Region XIX Division III.
