The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated Region 19 EPAC rival, the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers, 66-62 Saturday.
The Mustangs landed a four point lead in the first half, which they were able to hold onto through the 29-29 second half, to earn their fourth win of the season.
Leading the Mustangs was newcomer Jiana Clark, with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Chloe Long followed with 19 points, collected mostly from an impressive 5-of-9 performance on three-point shots. Bryanna Lacey also had a strong showing for the Mustangs, notching 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.
"The girls played well tonight and were able to hold on for a victory," said Mustangs Head Coach Kelly Dunbar. "I am proud of their efforts."
The Mustangs are now 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Next the Mustangs will traven to Lehigh Carbon Community College to take on the Cougars on Tuesday Jan. 14th.
