Women's Basketball Defeats Colts
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated the Middlesex County College Colts 88-63 in a high-scoring thriller.
The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead over the Colts, dominating the first few minutes of play. Both teams had a numer of successful offensive drives but the Mustangs kep ahead in points. The Colts fought to stay in the game and were able to end the first half down only by five points.
Going into the second half of the game up 40-35, the Mustangs converted on a number of breakaways to maintain the lead. By 13:30, the Mustangs gained a ten point lead and continued to remain in control. At 4:30 the Mustangs went up 20 points to lead 80-60. The game culminated in a 25 point win for the Mustangs.
The leading scorer for the Mustangs was sophomore Remi Gemi Gerwitz with 30 points, followed by Kristy Ragbir and Brianna Musselman with 15 points each.
