Mustangs Take Down Panthers

Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated the Passaic County Community College Panthers 69-61.

The teams played the first 5:00 evenly while the Mustangs maintained a slight lead. Just over half way through the first half, the Panthers were able to tie it up 25-25. The teams entered half time Panthers up 39-38.

Mustangs scored first in the second half, gaining the 40-39 lead with two successful foul shots from Amelia Stockman. The Panthers pressured the Mustangs looking to recover the lead but the Mustangs held, steadily bolstering their lead. At 15:00 the Mustangs led 46-40; then at 10:00 the Mustangs led 57-48. The Mustangs were able to keep the lead for the entire half, ultimately winning 69-61.

Five Mustangs athletes scored double-digits. Remi Gerwitz led the team with 14 points and nine rebounds, followed by Brianna Musselman with 13 points. Amelia Stockman and Alyssa Butcher both notched 11 points each and Butcher earned a double-double with 10 rebounds as well. Dayna McCrewell rounded out the solid team win with 10 points and eight rebounds.
