Mustangs Down Phantoms 65-38
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated the Delaware County Community College Phantoms 65-38.
The Mustangs jumped out ahead from the start, running up a 14-2 lead in the first eight minutes of the game minutes of the game. The Phantoms rallied to cut the lead to 14-7, but the Mustangs recharged for a surge to send the Phantoms into half time with a 18 point deficit.
Trailing 31-13, the Phantoms stepped onto the court ready to pressure the Mustangs, but the home team was able to stay one step ahead. In the second half the Mustangs continued to build their lead to ultimately win 65-38.
Alyssa Butcher led the Mustangs with a double-double, scoring 20 points and collecting 10 rebounds. Brianna Musselman put up 19 points and teammate Dayna McCrewell posted 12. In rebounds Kristin Butler led with 11 and Musselman notched nine.
