Vikings Sink Mustangs
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost two games to the Ocean County College Vikings in a double header Saturday.
In game one the Mustangs were defeated 2-15. The Vikings came out aggressively, stealing bases and racking up the majority of their runs in the first inning. Julie Sjostrom pitched for the Mustangs with a solid performance throughout the game. Brianna Antrim and Alyssa Butcher got on base for the Mustangs, and ultimately scored off a major Vikings fielding error in right field.
Game two showcased a much more solid defense from the Mustangs. Holding the Vikings to only eight runs in the game, the Mustangs battled to stay competitive. However, the Mustangs could not get the bats going on offense. Pitching for the Mustangs was Alyssa Butcher who gave up a costly 10 walks, but only two runs in the effort. Jessica Tolton had the only hit for the Mustangs, however teammates Marybeth Meyers and Julie Sjostrom were both walked on base.
