Men's Soccer Ties Roadrunners
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's soccer team tied the Gloucester County College Roadrunners 2-2 Sept. 28, 2010.
The Roadrunners struck first as Ryan Hornbrook blasted a 20 yard shot that beat Mustangs goalkeeper Phil Martin in the 9th minute of the match. After almost 25 minutes of scoreless play the Mustangs stepped up their game and took control twards the end of the first half. Brandon Essrig tied up the game in the 35th minute off a pass from Ahmed Faik. A few minutes later Jay Natale finished a cross from Lekan King allowing the Mustangs to take the lead before half time.
In the second half the Mustangs continued to dominate play but were unable to advance their lead further. With eight minutes left the Roadrunners tied the game at two apeice on an indirect penalty kick from six yards out. The goal sent the teams into two ten minute overtime periods, both of which remained scoreless, securing the final score of 2-2.
The Mustangs are now 2-5-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the NJCAA Region XIX Division III.
