Mustangs Win Season Opener 95-77 over Bergen Community College

Blue Bell, PA The Montgomery Country Men's Basketball team opened up the 2022-2023 season 1-0, as the Mustangs got off to an ideal start on Saturday with a convincing 18-point win over Bergen Community College. A strong first-half performance on both ends of the floor gave the Mustangs momentum, pouring in 45 points while only giving up 28. Despite a strong comeback effort from Bergen in the second-half – even taking a 3-point lead with less than 7 minutes left in the game – the Mustangs quickly recouped and pulled away, ending the game on a 32-11 point run in the final 6 minutes. Sophomore Will Anderson led the Mustangs with a 23-point, 18-rebound performance, including 8 offensive boards. All five of the Mustangs' starters contributed with double-digit scoring performances, while the team shot 48% from the field overall. The Mustangs will look to continue their momentum and develop their chemistry on Thursday, November 10, at Salem Community College (0-1), as they tip-off against the Might Oaks at 6:00 P.M.
