Men's Basketball Cruises by Dukes
Blue Bell, Pa. � The Cumberland County College Dukes men's basketball team traveled to Montgomery County Community College to take on the Mustangs Tuesday evening.
The game started in tight action as the Dukes and the Mustangs swapped 1 to 2 point leads for the first 15 minutes of play. With 5:00 left on the clock in the first half the Mustangs were able to start building a small advantage, sending the Dukes into the locker room down by seven points.
With the Mustangs ahead 43-36, the Dukes stormed onto the court at the start of the second half. In the opening minutes of the game the Dukes were able to close in on the Mustangs. But the Mustangs surged forward to lead by 13 by the 8:30 mark.
Twice the Dukes came within four points of the Mustangs but could not steal the lead. At 2:00 the Dukes trailed the Mustangs 75-89. The 14-point lead was too big a gap for the Dukes to recover from, as the Mustangs cruised to a 93-81 victory.
Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Rasahn Brinkley with 17, Shaquille Graham with 15, Dan Diorio and Darnell Clowney with 13 each, and Aaron Davis with 10. Brinkley also led the team in rebounds with 12, while teammates Diorio and Clowney contributed with nine and six steals respectively.
