Mustangs Lose Semifinal Game in Double Overtime

Newtown, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost the EPCC semifinal game in double overtime to the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology Bulldogs Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.

The game was close from beginning to end. The Mustangs and Bulldogs were all tied up at 38 apeice at the end of the first half, tied again at 78-78 at the end of regulation play and tied up for a third time at 85-85 at the end if the first overtime. It wasn't until the second overtime period that the Bulldogs were able to pull away with an ultimate 102-95 victory.

Mustangs Head Coach Denny Surovec contributed much of the loss to his team's free throw performance. "Our guys fought hard all game long but we made too many mistakes against a good team. Our free throw shooting really hurt us." The Mustangs were 20 for 44 at the foul line.

High scorers for the Mustangs were Marcus Langley with 21 points, Maleek Singleton with 20 and Phillip Michaels with 11. The Mustangs ended their season with an overall record of 24-5 and an EPCC record of 15-3.
