Mustangs Lose Two to Owls

Cranford, N.J. – The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's baseball team lost 1-10 and 0-14 to the Owls of Union County College on Saturday, Apr. 24, 2010.

The Mustangs' offensive highlights include Eric Smith (Plymouth Whitemarsh) going 1-for-2 with one RBI and Jacob Lehotta (Souderton) going 1-for-3 with one run and a triple in game one. In game two Smith continued his performance, going 2-for-2 and John Alexander (Cheltenham) added to the effort going 2-for-3.

The losing pitcher of game one was Jim Heilman (AB Wood), who pitched five innings, issuing 14 hits, ten runs, and seven earned runs. The losing in game two was Justin Risko (Pottsgrove), who pitched two-thirds an inning, issuing two hits, five earned runs, and five walks.

The Mustangs baseball team is now 15-20 overall (6-12 NJCAA Region XIX Division III). Next the team will travel to King's College on Sunday, Apr. 25. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
