Mustangs Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 12 Nationally After Historic Season
Blue Bell, PA — October 27, 2025
The bar has been set high in Blue Bell — and the Montgomery County Community College women's basketball team is ready to raise it even higher.
Fresh off a historic 25-4 season that included a Region 19 Championship, a 21-game winning streak, and a trip to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament, the Mustangs have been ranked No. 12 in the nation in the 2025–26 NJCAA Division III Preseason Poll.
It's the latest recognition for a program that has quickly become a powerhouse under Head Coach Shay Collins, blending relentless defense, balanced scoring, and unselfish team play.
"Last year was special, but we're not satisfied," said Coach Collins. "This group is hungry to build on what we accomplished. We've got experience, leadership, and players who understand what it takes to win at the highest level."
The 2024–25 campaign was one for the record books — the most wins in program history, the school's first Region 19 title, and a memorable postseason run that put MCCC women's basketball firmly on the national stage.
Now, with key returners leading the charge and a talented incoming class eager to contribute, the Mustangs are focused on defending their regional crown and making another deep postseason push.
"We know what it takes to get there," said returning standout Azjiona Golston. "This year's team has that same fire. We've worked hard all offseason, and we're ready to show we belong among the best."
The Mustangs open their season at home on Tuesday, November 11 at 5 p.m. against Sussex County Community College inside the Health Sciences Center Gymnasium; the same court where they celebrated last year's championship run.
With confidence, chemistry, and championship ambition, the Montgomery County Community College women's basketball team enters 2025–26 ready to prove once again that the road to Region 19 and beyond runs through Blue Bell.
