Rocket League Set to Compete in Game-Over Tournament
The Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) eSports Rocket League team is set to compete in an invite-only tournament on Saturday, March 2nd from 7-9 p.m. Hosted by the NJCAA, the "Game-Over Tournament" delivers a message of "One Pill Can Kill," supporting the cause of fentanyl and opioid addiction awareness. The Mustangs will be competing against five other eSports teams from the Pennsylvania area.
The Montco Rocket League team, who recently took home the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) title on Dec. 8, 2023, will look to add another tournament win in the upcoming invitational, while lending their support to an important cause.
Jace Winders, Montco's Director of eSports, expressed his pride in the Mustangs National Title squad and excitement for the Game-Over Tournament, saying "They worked super hard last semester, and it's really exciting to see them come in and compete for a new cause."
