Koran Prince is ready to take the helm of Montgomery County Community College men’s basketball program
Koran Prince is preparing to take the helm as head coach of the Montgomery County Community College men's basketball team, succeeding Assistant Athletic Director Nyere Miller who led the Mustangs for five seasons.
Prince played for the Mustangs in 2011 before graduating and transferring to Penn State Abington where he received his bachelor's in information science technology. Prince returned to Montgomery County in 2013 and served as assistant coach for the Mustangs.
A decade later, Coach Prince is now ready to take over a program that has established itself as one of the best basketball programs in the country. Prince has been a vital part in helping the Mustangs to an 84-26 record over the last 5 years. During this span the Mustangs claimed their first ever region championship and two EPAC Conference titles. The Mustangs finished ranked 8th in the country in the last NJCAA regular season poll and have consistently been ranked in the top 15 for the last four years including claiming the #1 ranking in 2022.
"Montco has been a big part of my life as a graduate, player, and assistant coach" Prince said. "The opportunity to now lead this program is truly a dream come true. I am ready to hit the ground running and continue to build on our previous success".
"It's his time" stated Assistant Athletic Director Nyere Miller. "Koran embodies everything that is appealing about Montgomery County Community College. His passion for the school, players, and community are always on full display. I am confident the program is in good hands and that he will continue to build on the excellent foundation we have established!"
