By: Oliver Griffin
Mustangs' guard Naiya Daisey has put together a phenomenal start to her freshman season, especially in the scoring department. Daisey currently ranks 4th in the country in points-per-game for NCJAA Division III women's basketball!
In 27 minutes per game, Daisey has posted a scoring average of 21.2 points, leading the Mustangs in scoring for the 2022-2023 season. 6 games into the season, Daisey has let her presence be known on the court, proving to be a scoring threat from anywhere on the floor. Not only is she scoring at a high clip, but Daisey's efficiency numbers prove just how valuable she has been for the Mustangs this season. Daisey is shooting 48.7% from the field on 15.3 attempts per game, 38.1% from 3-point range on 3.5 attempts per game, as well as 79.5% from the free-throw line on 6.5 attempts per game – staggering numbers that display Daisey's consistency and efficiency on the floor.
Daisey will continue to showcase her skillset on both ends of the floor for the Mustangs throughout the season, as she shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon! The Mustangs are currently 4-2 on the season, with 16 games left to play in the regular season. Naiya Daisey and the Mustangs will face the Camden County College Cougars on Thursday, December 8, for their next contest.
