Mustangs Keep Rolling! Take Down Northampton 8-6

The Montgomery County Community College baseball team uses late rally to take down Northampton 8-6 and stay unbeaten on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Mustangs scored 7 runs in the final 3 innings to take down rival Northampton Community Colllege 8-6 on Tuesday afternoon. MacAuley Swenk started off the afternoon by hittng a solo homerun to put Montco up 1-0 in the 2nd inning. The Spartans would seize control in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring 4 runs to go up 4-1. Facing their largest deficit of the season, the Mustangs battled back in the 7th inning scoring 3 runs highlighted by a 2 run Homerun by Marquise Wood to tie the game 4-4. With the game tied in the 9th inning Marquise Wood hit the go ahead Homerun to put the Mustangs up 5-4. Morgan D' Amico would add some insurance, hitting a 3-run homerun later in the inning to give the Mustangs an 8-4 advantage. The spartans would try to mount a comeback scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to draw closer 8-6. Lance Templeton would come in to pitch and secure the victory and extend the Mustangs win streak to 6 games.
