Mustangs Take Down Middlesex in 11 Innings

BLUE BELL, PA. –Mustang get the job done taking down Middlesex 6-5 in 11 innings. The win improves the Mustangs to 5-0 on the season. 

 
BY THE NUMBERS

  • Mike Kelly scored 3 runs and went 2-of-5 at the plate with 1 RBI
  • Francisco Tavares went 3-6 at the plate, scored1 run,  1 RBI
  • Morgan D'Amico went 4-5 at the plate, 1 Hr, 3 RBI
  • George Jacobs  – 2 innings pitched in relief w/ 2 strikeouts
  • Lance Templeton- 2 innings pitched in relief w/ 2 strikeouts

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

It took 11 innings but the Mustangs clawed themselves to a 6-5 victory over Middlesex County Community College. Trey Livingstone took the mound for the Mustangs. After two scoreless innings, the Mustangs would get on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning and would tack on another run in the top of the 4th. The Blue Colts would draw even in the bottom of the 4th tying the game at 2-2 and would take the lead  3-2 in the bottom of the 5th inning. 

The Mustangs would show resilience and would put up 3 runs in the 7th inning to take back control of the game. It would be short lived however, as the Blue Colts would draw even in the bottom of the 7th. George Jacobs would enter the game in relief with the score tied 5-5. Jacobs would pitch the next two innings and prevent Middlesex from taking the lead. Mike Kelly would hit the go ahead homerun in the top of the 11th inning to put the Mustangs up 6-5. Lance Templeton would secure the victory for the Mustangs to keep their win streak alive.
