Tuesday was a tough day for the Mustangs' volleyball team, as they traveled to Northampton to take on the NJCAA Division III powerhouse of Northampton Community College. Even as the Mustangs were riding a 4-game winning streak, the match would prove to be an uphill battle.
The Spartans didn't underestimate the Mustangs, taking the first set 25-11. With only two errors in the first set, the Mustangs weren't beating themselves; this was truly just Northampton outplaying them. The first set would prove to be the best showing for Montgomery all day.
Sets two and three would both go to the Spartans, by a score of 25-5 and 25-8 respectively. The Spartans held last week's EPAC Player of the Week, Rebecca Godshall (FR, Souderton), to only four kills for the match.
Montgomery falls to a still respectable 6-3 record overall, with a 6-3 record in NJCAA Region XIX play as well. For their next match, volleyball will travel to Bucks County Community College on Thursday.
