BLUE BELL, Pa. - Montgomery's volleyball team logged its 10th win of the season on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Community College of Philadelphia 25-18, 25-5, 25-13 in a non-conference match.
Colby Shackelford and Courtney Gill led the Mustangs with 8 kills apiece. Shackelford added 7 aces, while Gill recorded 9 digs. Victoria Biggins registered 23 assists.
The Mustangs jumped out to an early lead in the first set, but the Colonials fought back before losing by seven points. Montgomery took control in the second set and carried that over into the third set. CCP was within two points early in the third set before the Mustangs pulled away.
"The girls gave good effort today," said Head Coach Rita Rivera. "They'll need to be on top of their game even more on Monday and Tuesday in matches with Lackawanna and Northampton."
The Mustangs, now 10-3 overall, host Division II Lackawanna College on Monday at 7 pm inside the gym of the PE Building on Central Campus.
