Five days after a hard-fought 3-1 win over the Bucks County Community College Centurions at home, the Mustangs Women's Volleyball team found themselves on the opposite side in a 3-1 defeat. The loss was the team's second in a row.
Setter/outside hitter Anna Mitchell led the way for the Mustangs as they won the first set, 25-16. For the match, Mitchell led the team in aces with 6 and kills with 12.
The Mustangs dropped the second set, 25-20, and fell short in a tiebreaker, 26-24, in the third set. Bucks made it three in a row with a 25-14 win in the fourth set to take the match.
Mustangs middle hitter Gabriella Glaum rolled her ankle and was unable to play the fourth set.
"Even though we won the first game, our energy was not there from the beginning," said head coach Rita Rivera. "I think our girls went into the match a bit overconfident. But I know the girls will work hard Saturday to end the losing streak."
The team sits at 6-2 overall, with a home Tri-Match Saturday featuring Valley Forge Military College and Harcum College. The match will open with the Mustangs facing Harcum at noon.
