Women's Basketball Struggles Against USCAA Foe

After grabbing their first road win on Tuesday, the women's basketball team was looking to keep their momentum going on Saturday when they traveled to Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The Nittany Lions are a USCAA team, which means that they can keep their athletes for four years, instead of just two years like the NJCAA. This of course meant that the Mustangs would be facing an uphill battle right from the start.

The game proved to be a struggle for the Mustangs from the first quarter, as the Nittany Lions built a nine point lead and never looked back. Wilkes-Barre would outscore the Mustangs by nine in each of the first three quarters, before sealing the 81-47 win in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Keys (SO, Berks Catholic) still shined even in the loss, tallying 27 of the Mustangs' 47 points. Yasmin Gant (SO, Upper Merion) led the team in rebounds with 8.

Next, women's basketball continues their road trip when they travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday.
