The Mustangs came out on top again, in their second double header conference event this week on Wednesday, April 12th. The Mustangs defeated the Bucks County Community College Centurions with a final score of 16-1
Sophomore Linda Sobeck #19 (Upper Merion High School/ Early Education) collected four hits in four at bats. She tripled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and tripled in the fifth.
The early lead in the first inning definitely helped propel the Mutangs to victory as they scored off of Sobeck's triple. A single by Freshman Shioban Seymour #13 (Methacton High School/ Criminal Justice) and a single by Freshman Catcher Anna Robinson #5 (Plumstead Christian Academy/ Hospitality Management) also helped.
The Mustangs scored six runs in the fourth inning. Sophomore Allison Henning #9 (Norristown High School/ Business Administration) contributed a single along with Sobeck and Seymour. Freshman Haylie Brass #4 (Upper Dublin High School/ Liberal Studies), and Sophomore Anna Morgan #12 (Plymouth Whitemarsh/ Liberal Studies) also had a single each.
Overall, the Mustangs collected 22 hits: Sobeck, Sophomore Emma Hagel #1 (Norristown High School/ Business Administration), Sophomore Shannon Lee #3 (Souderton High School/Phys Ed. & Health), Seymour, Robinson, Henning, and Brass each collected multiple hits for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs now have a conference record of 4-0 and an overall record of 5-4. See game 2 to check out the results.
