The Mustangs grabbed an early lead on its way to a 15-5 conference victory over the Bucks County Community College Centurions on Wednesday, April 12th.
The Mustangs scored on a single by Sophomore Shortstop Allison Henning #9 (Norristown High School/ Business Administration) in the first inning.
In the 4th inning, the Mustangs didn't let up, scoring seven runs. Sophomore Pitcher Haylie Brass #4 (Upper Dublin High School/ Liberal Studies) drove in a run, followed by a fielder's choice by Sophomore Anna Morgan #12 (Plymouth Whitemarsh High School/ Liberal Studies), and a double by Freshman Shannon Lee #3 (Souderton High School/ Physical Ed. & Health).
Freshman Pitcher Haylie Brass #4 earned the win. She went five innings, giving up five runs, five hits, and striking out four. She had 34 first pitch strikes as well.
The Mustangs had 13 hits in the game. Morgan, Brass, Lee, Freshman Shioban Seymour #13 (Methacton High School/ Criminal Justice), Freshman Catcher Anna Robinson #5 (Plumstead Christian Academy/ Hospitality Management), and Henning each collected multiple hits, each managing two hits.
The Mustangs were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lee made the most plays with seven.
The Mustangs now have a conference record of 5-0 and an overall record of 5-6. Their next game will be aginst the Spartans of Northampton County Community College in a double header conference event on Thursday, April 13th.
