Men's soccer took on Valley Forge Military College on Tuesday. This match was the first time the two teams would meet this season, so expectations were high for both teams.
The Mustangs came out blisteringly fast. Elias Gehman (SO, Christopher Dock) took a pass from Edward Mincarelli (SO) down the field and scored in 26 seconds of the start of the game. The Mustangs didn't slow down from there. They'd add four more goals before the end of the first half for a 5-0 halftime lead.
The Mustang bench got some playing time in the second half, building their skills and recording plenty of shots. Finally, with the starters back in the game, Chakubuta Tuhenya (FR, Springfield) would finish the game off in the 90th minute with a sixth Mustang goal.
This 6-0 win is the largest margin of victory for men's soccer this season. The team finally found a way to finish their shots on goal and look to be going strong heading into the end of the regular season.
Their rematch against Delaware County Community College on Tuesday will be a test of their newfound offensive momentum.
