On Tuesday, men's soccer traveled to Bucks County Community College in their final game of the regular season. Earlier in the season, Bucks defeated the Mustangs 2-1, but Montgomery was missing a few starters. The Mustangs were ready for some revenge.
However, the game didn't start the way Montgomery wanted it to. Bucks managed to grab two goals in the first half and maintained a 2-0 lead at halftime. Finally, the Mustangs broke through on a penalty kick goal from Ayoub Mouhou (SO, Daniel Boone), who added his fifteenth goal of the season in his first game returning from an injury.
Bucks was able to quench the Mustang momentum however, answering back with a goal of their own only a few minutes later. Down 3-1, the Mustangs knew that they needed to put pressure on the Centurions' defense in order to win the game. However, this left their own defense open and allowed Bucks to grab another late goal. The Mustangs couldn't answer and the game ended with a final score of 4-1.
Montgomery finishes the regular season with an 8-5 record. Despite the loss, they will still make playoffs. Playoff dates and seedings will be announced Wednesday, so make sure to check back in on mustangsathletics.com to find out when and where the team will be playing.
