Men's Soccer Gets Back On Track Against Harrisburg

Men's soccer had suffered two straight losses after starting the season 3-0. Their first game of the season was a 9-2 win against Harrisburg Area Community College, which was where the team would travel on Thursday for a rematch.

Harrisburg came to play this time and immediately put the pressure on the Mustangs. Both teams struggled offensively in the first half. "Our team's effort was strong, but our play was sloppy in the first half," said head coach Tom Haney. Finally, in the 40th minute, Elias Gehman (FR, Christopher Dock) would break the 0-0 tie. The lead would stay at one heading into the second half.

In the second half, Ayoub Mouhou (SO, Daniel Boone) came alive. He would continue his strong season by scoring a hat trick in just 14 minutes. Although Harrisburg would score late in the second half, the Mustangs would walk away with a 4-1 victory.

"Defensive pressure in the second half opened up many more offensive opportunities. We also capitalized on our chances," said Coach Haney after the match. Haney was also happy that all 19 players that traveled with the team on Thursday saw playing time, building valuable experience for the second half of the season.

Men's soccer is back in action on Monday, when they play Lehigh Carbon Community College at home.
