The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's basketball team defeated the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers 110-71.
In a full team effort, the Mustangs dominated in a 31 point win over the Trailblazers Saturday. From the opening tip, the Mustangs held control of play, racking up a 53-37 lead by half time. The second half of the game was more of the same, as the Mustangs put up 57 points, while holding the Trailblazers to 34. Each member of the Mustangs squad tallied points in the win.
Leading in points was Steve Kulp with 22, followed by Shane Isett with 17 and Chris Uhrich with 15. Also contributing were Nick Demeno with 14, Tre Budd with 13, and Dexter Shy with 11. Eight, six and four points were also added by Ryan Casper, Tyreek Magruder and Cameron Green, respectively.
Kulp also led the team with eight rebounds and four steals. Shy and Uhrich posted seven rebounds each, with Shy also adding four steals. Isett led the team with five assists.
Next the Mustangs will travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College to take on the Cougars on Tuesday Jan. 14. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
