Baseball Has Record-Setting Day Against Manor College

In two very important games, Manor College traveled to Blue Bell to take on the Mustangs in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Mustangs could only afford to lose one more game in order to qualify for NJCAA Region XIX playoffs, so they needed to hit a hot streak.

And the Mustangs were ready to answer that call. In game one, the Mustangs racked up an incredible 27 runs to beat the Blue Jays 27-11. Game two was more of the same, with the Mustangs scoring 15 more runs in a 15-4 win.

The 42 combined runs set the record for the most combined runs in double header in Montgomery baseball history. The Mustangs also set school records for most runs in a game with 27, in a seven inning game no less, most hits in a seven inning game with 17 and longest combined double header (5h, 32m).

Elias Gehman (FR, Christopher Dock) led the Mustangs in RBIs with 6 on 3 hits. Mike Kelly (FR, Pope John Paul) had an incredible combined 8 runs in both games.

The Mustangs will attempt to keep this momentum going when the travel to Atlantic Cape on Sunday for another doubleheader.
