Mustangs fall to Williamson in Walk-Off

On Tuesday, the baseball team traveled to Williamson College of the Trades to take on the Mechanics in what would be the first of two games between the two schools this season. The Mustangs were excited to start building on their momentum gained in the double header win against Delco on Saturday.

However, errors hurt the Mustangs early on. Williamson scored seven runs in the first two innings, with only one of them being earned. The Mustangs faced a 7-2 deficit after two innings, largely due to their five errors.

However, Montgomery didn't get discouraged and continued to chip away at the lead. The Mustangs averaged a run an inning for the next four innings and found themselves down by only one run in the 8th, largely due to great pitching from Luke Deleo (SO, Pope John Paul).

Finally in the 8th inning, the Mustangs found the break they were looking for when Frankie Ramirez (FR, Winter Springs) was hit by a pitch and brought Logan Curley (SO, Upper Perkiomen) home.

The Mustangs looked poised to take the lead with the bases loaded, but couldn't get the hit they needed to bring one home.

In the bottom of the ninth, yet another error sent the game winning run to third. The Mechanics only took two more batters to bring him in and seal the walk-off win.

The Mustangs finished with a season-high 9 errors and 14 left on base. Despite the 8-7 win, the Mechanics only earned one run because of those errors.

Next up, the Mustangs will face off against County College of Morris at home on Thursday
