Montgomery hosted Luzerne County Community College on Thursday and, despite below freeizng temperatures and a hailstorm, was able to pull out an 11 run win. Both teams started the first inning with a run, but only Montgomery would add to that score in the second, taking a commanding 5-1 lead. Luzerne battled back, in what would eventually become a high-scoring game. However, Montgomery added 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth, possibly motivated by a five minute hailstorm (literally) that came down in the middle of the game. Will Brownlowe and Noah Ruiz added 2 RBIs each during that 10 run streak and the Mustangs scored 8 of their original 9 starters during the inning. Even though Luzerne scored 3 in the fifth, Montgomery was able to add three of their own and relief pitcher Luke Deleo continued his hot season with 0 earned runs and 4 strikeouts. The game ended at 18-7 in the seventh inning, due to baseball's ten-run rule.
Luke Deleo - 0 ER, 5 K (season .40 ERA)
