The Mustangs lost to the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon County College, 9-2 in a conference event at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 30th.
Initially the Mustangs defense kept the Cougars at bay, holding them to a scoreless 5 innings. Within that time frame, the Mustangs had also successfully got their first run in the third inning.
Come time in the 6th inning, however, the Cougars took the lead 5-1 after 5 consecutive hits.
The Mustangs tried to make up the scoring deficit, but only managed to bring home just one more run in the ninth.
The two runs scored by the Mustangs are attributed to Freshman Inflielder Adam McKinlay #33(Plymouth Whitemarsh/Business Administration) and Freshman Outfielder, Kyle Callahan #24 (Archbishop Carroll/Business Administration).
The Mustangs host the next double header event at home against the Gwynedd Mercy JV Griffins on Sunday, April 2nd at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Offensively, The Mustangs had improved from their last event, coming to a total of 12 hits (compared to the Cougar's 14 in today's competition). All it comes down is to making those hits count at the right time and the runs will soon follow for our Mustangs.
